Following last year's very successful event at Brooklands, we are again joining together with the XK register to stage a major Jaguar event.
We are back at the Shuttleworth Collection near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire (SG18 9EP for sat nav) on Sunday 20th June, where in addition to the Jaguar event you'll find a fascinating aviation museum.
An important function of the XJ Register is to hold records of members' cars. This can be used to keep a history of a particular vehicle and is also useful when we get requests for Jaguars from the media.
When a specific type of car is needed for television, film or magazine articles, the JDC and the XJ Register committee can be asked if we know of one. Having records helps us to match these requests with owners. Expenses are always paid, and you can enjoy seeing your car receive its five minutes of fame!
For 2009, we are pleased to have our friends at the XK Register joining us on the 2nd of August for what promises to be a fantastic day out at the Motorsport and Aviation Museum at Brooklands
.
Following our very interesting and well attended factory tour in September, another tour of the Jaguar factory at Castle Bromwich has been arranged by the XJ Register for Tuesday the 9th of December 2008.

A tour of the Jaguar factory at Castle Bromwich has been arranged by the XJ Register for Thursday the 25th September 2008.

The Castle Bromwich factory in Birmingham was originally built in 1938, becoming a Jaguar plant in 1980. It covers 106 acres, the plant size is a massive 1.4 million square feet, with 2330 people employed. The product history includes Spitfires, Bendix, the XJ6 and the XJS. Currently it produces the S-type saloon and bodyshells for the XJ and XK cars.
Anthony Winchester - the winner of the concours at XJ Day 2007 - did very well at the Champion of Champions held at the NEC. Whilst his beautiful XJ12 didn't quite manage to beat the XK150 which won the award, he did receive the Harld Mayer Endeavour Trophy.
Well done Anthony!
The Jaguar Drivers Club produces an excellent magazine called 'Jaguar Driver'. Published on a monthly basis, Jaguar Drivers Club members benefit from receiving this quality glossy colour publication as part of their annual membership package. Professionally edited by Steve Fermor and expertly printed by Stephens and George Ltd, 'Jaguar Driver' magazine has a dedicated section exclusively reserved for the XJ Register. Usually taking up 4 to 6 pages, XJ Register members are encouraged to send in stories, articles and photos of thier prized XJ's and XJS's.
The XJ Register now has its website up and running. It is still a work-in-progress, you can expect to find more features and facilities added on a regular basis.
The main features at the moment are the Events calendar - make sure you don't miss XJ Day! - and the XJ forums. You'll need to register for these, but then can post or ask for help from other members.
In the XJ Register pages you'll find details of the committee and contact information.
If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to contact me!
